Zoey 102 is a 2023 American romantic comedy film that was directed by Nancy Hower. The screenplay was written by the team of Monica Sherer and Madeline Whitby. This movie serves as a sequel to the Nickelodeon series Zoey 101, which aired from 2005 to 2008. Many actors from the original series returned for this follow-up, including Jamie Lynn Spears, Erin Sanders, Sean Flynn, Christopher Massey, Matthew Underwood, Abby Wilde, and Jack Salvatore Jr.. New characters were introduced with Owen Thiele, Thomas Lennon, Dean Geyer, and Katelynn Bennett joining the cast.
Nickelodeon announced plans for a sequel to Zoey 101 in January 2023, fourteen years after the original show ended on the network. Sherer and Whitby were brought on to write the screenplay, while Hower was confirmed as director. Spears agreed to return the same month and also became an executive producer along with Hower, Sherer, Whitby, and Alexis Fisher. Additionally, Nickelodeon live-action production heads Shauna Phelan and Zack Olin acted as producers. Roles for Sanders, Flynn, Massey, Underwood, Wilde, and Salvatore Jr. were confirmed, with new additions Thiele, Lennon, Geyer, and Bennett joining shortly after.
Principal photography occurred mostly in Wilmington, North Carolina. Roger Neill was selected to compose the film's incidental music.
The movie was produced by Nickelodeon Movies, and Zoey 102 premiered on Paramount+ in July 27, 2023. Critics gave it mixed reviews. It ranked as the third most-watched film on Paramount+ in the U.S. and second in Canada just one day after its release.
