Weapons is a 2025 American supernatural mystery horror film directed, written, produced, and co-scored by Zach Cregger. The ensemble cast features Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Toby Huss, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan. The storyline centers on seventeen children from one classroom who vanish simultaneously on the same night at the same time.

Following the critical and commercial triumph of his movie Barbarian (2022), Cregger commenced development on the spec script for Weapons. This led to a bidding contest among multiple studios, with New Line Cinema ultimately winning the rights. Originally planned to begin filming from May to July 2023, production faced delays due to actor absences tied to the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes. Resuming casting in February 2024, finalizing occurred by May of that year. Principal photography started in Atlanta and wrapped up in July.

Weapons premiered in North American theaters on August 8, 2025 through Warner Bros. Pictures. The film garnered widespread critical appreciation and proved financially profitable, earning $270 million despite a $38 million budget. Madigan’s portrayal received special recognition, securing the Academy Award and the Actor Award (SAG Award) for Best Supporting Actress, along with a Golden Globe Award nomination in the same category. A prequel titled Gladys is set for release in 2028.
