Nonnas represents a 2025 American biographical comedy-drama movie helmed by Stephen Chbosky, scripted by Liz Maccie, and featuring Vince Vaughn, Lorraine Bracco, Talia Shire, Brenda Vaccaro alongside Linda Cardellini and Susan Sarandon. This production adapts the biography of Joe Scaravella, who established the Staten Island dining establishment Enoteca Maria. His motivation stems from a desire to tribute his recently passed, cherished mother by launching an Italian eatery staffed with authentic grandmothers as cooks.
A collaborative effort between Fifth Season, 1Community, Madison Wells, and Matador Content, this movie premiered on Netflix in May 9, 2025, garnering generally favorable critiques. Since the film debuted over Mother's Day weekend within America, it achieved position No. 1 domestically.
