Marty Supreme is a 2025 American sports comedy-drama film directed by Josh Safdie, who co-wrote it with Ronald Bronstein. The story takes place in the 1950s and features Timothée Chalamet as table tennis player Marty Mauser (a character loosely inspired by Marty Reisman) on his journey to become world champion. Supporting roles are played by Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A'zion, Kevin O'Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher.

Safdie and Bronstein started working on the film in 2018 after Safdie received a copy of Reisman's 1974 memoir, The Money Player: The Confessions of America's Greatest Table Tennis Champion and Hustler. In 2018, Safdie met with Chalamet and offered him the main role. After an extended development process, the project was officially announced in July 2024. This film represents Safdie’s first solo directorial work since The Pleasure of Being Robbed (2008), as he had previously collaborated with his brother Benny on five other films. Cinematographer Darius Khondji used 35 mm film stock, and Safdie’s frequent collaborator Daniel Lopatin created the soundtrack. Jack Fisk oversaw production design.

Marty Supreme made its debut at the New York Film Festival on October 6, 2025, followed by a U.S. release on December 25 through A24. It earned widespread critical praise and proved commercially successful, collecting $192 million globally and ranking among A24's top-grossing films, as well as the highest-grossing independent movie of that year. The National Board of Review and the American Film Institute both listed it among their top ten films of 2025. Additionally, it received multiple award nominations, including nine at the 98th Academy Awards (including Best Picture), and eleven at the 79th British Academy Film Awards. 2026 Oscars Snubs & Surprises: Timothée Chalamet and ‘Marty Supreme’ Win Nothing, ‘Sinners’ Casting Director Misses and More – Variety Chalamet was honored with Best Actor awards from both the Golden Globes and Critics' Choice for his portrayal.
