Jurassic World Rebirth represents a 2025 American science fiction action movie directed by Gareth Edwards and penned by David Koepp. It continues the narrative from Jurassic World Dominion (2022), marking the fourth chapter in the Jurassic World saga and the seventh within the broader Jurassic Park universe. The cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, and Ed Skrein. In this storyline, de-extinct dinosaurs inhabit regions near the equator, offering their final suitable habitat. A group ventures to an old island research station where three massive dinosaur species are located, aiming to collect samples essential for heart disease therapy. During the mission, they also rescue a shipwrecked family, and both groups face challenges surviving while stranded on the island.

Pre-production started soon after Jurassic World Dominion (2022) was released, with executive producer Steven Spielberg enlisting Koepp to assist in creating the next chapter of the franchise. Koepp had previously collaborated on the original Jurassic Park film (1993) and authored its follow-up, The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997). Initial reports about Rebirth’s development surfaced in January 2024. Edwards was appointed as director a month later, followed by casting activities. Principal filming occurred across Thailand, Malta, and the United Kingdom between June and September 2024, with a production budget ranging from $180 to 254 million.

Jurassic World Rebirth opened on June 17, 2025 at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London, later debuting in the United States and Canada through Universal Pictures on July 2. Critics offered varied reactions, although some considered it superior to prior films in the series. The movie ranked as the sixth most successful film of 2025, earning over $872 million globally—the first feature since Jurassic Park III to not surpass $1billion. At the 98th Academy Awards, it received a nomination for Best Visual Effects, becoming the first Jurassic Park film since The Lost World to be recognized with an Oscar nod in any category. A follow-up project is currently in development.
