Historical drama

Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale is a 2025 historical drama film directed by Simon Curtis from a screenplay by Julian Fellowes. It serves as the sequel to Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022) and marks the third and final film in the Downton Abbey franchise. Numerous original franchise cast members, who also appeared in the preceding two films, reappear. Paul Giamatti and Dominic West resume their roles as Harold Levinson from the television series and Guy Dexter from the prior film, respectively, while Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale and Arty Froushan become part of the ensemble.

Imelda Staunton, who played Maud, Lady Bagshaw in the previous film, declared in March 2024 that a concluding third and final film within the Downton Abbey series was in development, with the primary cast expected to return. After several cast members confirmed their role reprisals in May, production commenced that month and ended in August, featuring a net budget of $50 million. The official title was revealed in March 2025.

Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale debuted through Focus Features on 12 September 2025. Critics responded favorably to the film and it earned $103.5 million globally. Post its digital release, the movie reached number one on the UK Film Chart, remaining there for twenty-three weeks within the Top 100; additionally, the film achieved number one status for five weeks on the UK DVD chart.
