Anemone represents a 2025 American psychological drama crafted by Ronan Day-Lewis in his first full-length directorial effort, utilizing a screenplay he co-authored with his father, Daniel Day-Lewis, who also assumes the principal role. This joint production involving the United Kingdom and United States showcases Day-Lewis's comeback to acting following Phantom Thread in 2017, appearing alongside Sean Bean and Samantha Morton in supporting capacities. The narrative centers on a disturbed hermit whose separated sibling arrives to persuade him to return home and reconcile with his family.

The motion picture debuted internationally at the 2025 New York Film Festival on September 28, subsequently receiving a restricted cinema release within the United States on October 3 through Focus Features, then extending nationwide a week later on October 10, eventually being distributed throughout the United Kingdom by Universal Pictures on November 7.

Critics responded with divided opinions regarding Anemone, faulting its screenwriting while acclaiming the visual presentation and acting, particularly highlighting Day-Lewis's portrayal as a welcome return to professional activity.
