Action comedy

A 2017 American comedy film, Snatched was directed by Jonathan Levine and written by Katie Dippold. Starring Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn (who returns to acting after a 15-year hiatus), with Joan Cusack, Ike Barinholtz, Wanda Sykes, and Christopher Meloni appearing in supporting roles, the story follows a mother and daughter (Schumer and Hawn) who are kidnapped during a trip in South America. The film opened in New York City on May 2, 2017 before its theatrical release on May 12, 2017 through 20th Century Fox. Critics responded negatively, citing weak plot development, humor, and pacing, along with problematic portrayals of South American culture. Commercially, it failed, earning $60.8 million globally against a $42 million budget. At the 38th Golden Raspberry Awards, Hawn received a nomination for Worst Supporting Actress for her role.
