Logan is a 2017 American superhero film featuring Hugh Jackman in the role of the main character. The movie adapts the Marvel Comics figure Wolverine and was directed by James Mangold, who collaborated on the script with Michael Green and Scott Frank based on a story by Mangold. It marks the tenth entry in the X-Men movie series and the third standalone film for Wolverine after X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and The Wolverine (2013). This project serves as a spin-off and sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014). The storyline draws inspiration from the "Old Man Logan" comic arc created by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven. It portrays an older Wolverine and a severely ill Charles Xavier protecting a young mutant named Laura against the Reavers, led by Donald Pierce and Zander Rice. Supporting roles are played by Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, and Stephen Merchant, with Dafne Keen making her cinematic debut as Laura.

Discussions about the film started after The Wolverine released in 2013, with Mangold being considered for the treatment and Lauren Shuler Donner planning to return as producer. Updates were announced that December for May 2016. Principal filming commenced in May and concluded in August, primarily in Louisiana, New Mexico, and Mississippi. The production aimed to present a near-future setting with subtle technological and social changes, strongly influenced by Western themes, giving it a Neo-Western feel.

Logan had its premiere at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival on February 17, 2017, followed by a U.S. theatrical release on March 3. Critics lauded the film for its action sequences, emotional storytelling, acting, and direction by Mangold, making it the most critically acclaimed X-Men film to date. The National Board of Review listed Logan among the top ten films of 2017. It also received a Best Adapted Screenplay nomination at the 90th Academy Awards, marking the first live-action superhero movie to be so recognized. Worldwide earnings reached $619.2 million, placing it as the third-highest-grossing R-rated film at the time. The Marvel Studios release Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) continues elements from Logan, with Jackman portraying an alternate version of Logan and Keen reappearing as Laura.
