A 2018 American biographical black comedy film, Vice is based on the life of Dick Cheney, who served as the 46th vice president of the United States. The film was directed, written, and produced by Adam McKay, and stars Christian Bale in the role of Cheney. Supporting roles are played by Amy Adams, Steve Carell, Sam Rockwell, Justin Kirk, Tyler Perry, Alison Pill, Lily Rabe, and Jesse Plemons. It chronicles Cheney's rise to becoming the most powerful vice president in American history, using political satire as a narrative device.

Vice premiered in the United States on December 25, 2018 through Annapurna Pictures. Worldwide earnings totaled $76.1 million, falling short of expectations relative to its $60 million budget, marking it a box office failure. Despite widespread critical acclaim for the acting, the film sparked divided reactions among critics—some hailed it as one of the year’s best, while others called it among the worst. McKay's screenplay and direction were met with both harsh criticism and enthusiastic praise. The movie received multiple honors, including eight nominations at the 91st Academy Awards, winning the award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling. Additionally, it garnered six nominations each from the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs. Bale, Adams, and Rockwell were all nominated across these three award ceremonies, with Bale ultimately winning the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
