The Tale 2018
A 2018 American drama film, The Tale is written and directed by Jennifer Fox and features Laura Dern, Ellen Burstyn, Jason Ritter, Elizabeth Debicki, Isabelle Nélisse, Common, Frances Conroy, and John Heard. The film depicts the story of a child sexual abuse survivor and her journey toward acceptance in adulthood. It made its debut at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival before being broadcast on HBO on May 26, 2018. Although produced in 2018, Jennifer Fox waited five years and two years after the abuser's death to disclose in a 2023 interview that the perpetrator was Ted Nash, a two-time Olympic medalist in rowing and nine-time Olympic coach. In the same interview, she named Susie Buchanan, her former riding instructor, as an accomplice of Nash.
