Super Troopers 2 2018
Super Troopers 2 is a 2018 American comedy film directed by Jay Chandrasekhar. This sequel to the 2001 Super Troopers uses the comedic talents of the Broken Lizard team, including Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske. The story centers on the Super Troopers being asked to establish a new Highway Patrol station due to an international border conflict between the United States and Canada.
Development faced challenges as studios doubted whether a follow-up, released more than fifteen years later, could attract viewers. A successful crowdfunding effort raised $2 million within 24 hours (totaling $4.7 million) which led to approval. Principal photography commenced in Central Massachusetts on October 23, 2015. The film premiered in the United States on April 20, 2018 through Fox Searchlight Pictures.
