Overboard 2018
Overboard is a 2018 American romantic comedy film that serves as a reversed remake of the 1987 original. The film was directed by Rob Greenberg and features a screenplay co-written by Bob Fisher and Leslie Dixon. Starring Eugenio Derbez, Anna Faris, and Cecilia Suárez in roles corresponding to Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, and Edward Herrmann from the first version, it also includes Eva Longoria and John Hannah as co-stars. The story centers on Kate, a working-class single mother who persuades Leo, an amnesiac playboy, into believing they are married.
Released in the United States on May 4, 2018, the movie earned $91 million worldwide against a budget of $12 million. Critics gave it negative reviews, highlighting Faris' performance as comedic relief while criticizing the plot for being unoriginal and failing to differentiate itself from the predecessor.
