A 2018 science fiction action film, Kin follows a young boy who discovers an unusual weapon when his recently released brother comes home. This movie, directed by Jonathan and Josh Baker, was written by Daniel Casey and adapted from the Bakers' 2014 short Bag Man. Starring Jack Reynor, Zoë Kravitz, Carrie Coon, Dennis Quaid, James Franco, and Myles Truitt who makes his debut performance here, the story centers on this unexpected encounter.

Released in the United States on August 31, 2018 through Summit Entertainment, Kin received mostly critical dislike for its writing and uneven tone, although some appreciated the acting. The film failed commercially, earning $10 million globally while costing $30 million to produce.
