Hunter Killer 2018
A 2018 American action thriller film, Hunter Killer stars Gerard Butler and Gary Oldman. Based on the 2012 novel Firing Point by Don Keith and George Wallace, it depicts a submarine team and U.S. Navy SEALs rescuing the kidnapped Russian President during a coup. Donovan Marsh directed the movie, with Arne Schmidt and Jamie Moss as writers. Michael Nyqvist appears (his final film role), alongside Common, Linda Cardellini, and Toby Stephens in supporting parts. The film premiered in the U.S. on October 26, 2018 through Summit Premiere. It underperformed commercially and critics gave it mixed reviews, calling it "an undemanding, by-the-numbers actioner".
