A 2018 American animated horror-comedy film, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation follows the third entry in the franchise, directed by Genndy Tartakovsky and written by Tartakovsky alongside Michael McCullers. The production was handled by Sony Pictures Animation, continuing the story of Dracula's monster-filled hotel. Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, David Spade, Steve Buscemi, Keegan-Michael Key, Molly Shannon, Fran Drescher, and Mel Brooks return in their respective roles, while Kathryn Hahn and Jim Gaffigan are added to the cast. The plot centers on Dracula discovering love with Ericka, a ship captain, during a luxury cruise vacation with his family and friends. However, it is later revealed that she is the great-granddaughter of Abraham Van Helsing, Dracula’s long-time enemy.

The project was announced in November 2015. Tartakovsky confirmed his return in June 2016, citing inspiration from a "miserable" family vacation and the Chevy Chase National Lampoon's Vacation movies. The film’s title was disclosed in November 2017.

Premiering at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 13, 2018, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation had its U.S. theatrical release on July 13. Critics offered mixed-to-positive feedback, and it earned $541 million domestically against a production budget ranging from $65 to 80 million, becoming the top-grossing installment in the series. A follow-up film, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, appeared in 2022, and a spin-off series titled Motel Transylvania is set to debut on Netflix in 2027.
