Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is a 2018 interactive film within the science fiction anthology series Black Mirror. The project was created by series originator Charlie Brooker and directed by David Slade. It debuted on Netflix on 28 December 2018, with its official release date only revealed the day prior.

The story follows Stefan Butler (Fionn Whitehead), a young programmer in 1984 adapting a fantasy gamebook into a video game. Viewers make choices for the main character, who interacts with Mohan Thakur (Asim Chaudhry) and Colin Ritman (Will Poulter), two employees at a video game company. Also present are Stefan's father Peter (Craig Parkinson) and his therapist, Dr. Haynes (Alice Lowe). The film explores themes of free will and is named after a real video game planned by Imagine Software in 1984, itself inspired by the bandersnatch—a creature from Lewis Carroll’s imagination.

Series creator Charlie Brooker and executive producer Annabel Jones were approached by Netflix to produce an interactive film during May 2017, when Netflix was developing several children's projects. The complex non-linear script caused difficulties, prompting Netflix to develop a custom tool called Branch Manager; this required changes in how cache memory was used on the platform. Originally intended for Black Mirror’s fifth season, Bandersnatch became a standalone film due to its extended production timeline, pushing the fifth series to June 2019.

Critics recognized the technical execution of the film but criticized the character development. Commentary on the narrative and the influence of viewer decisions was divided. While Bandersnatch received average rankings among Black Mirror episodes in quality assessments, it earned multiple awards and nominations, including two Primetime Emmy Awards. A sequel episode titled "Plaything" was released in 2025 as part of the series’ seventh season, featuring reprisals by Poulter and Chaudhry.

Bandersnatch marked one of Charlie Brooker's early ventures into interactive media. By 2023, Netflix had moved away from such formats toward video games offered through the platform. Netflix noted that the technology had fulfilled its role. Several interactive titles were removed from Netflix by 2025, except for Bandersnatch and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs the Reverend. Both were taken down from Netflix in May 2025 as part of a major interface overhaul.
