Starring Bobby Soto, Cinthya Carmona, George Lopez, and Shia LaBeouf, the story centers on two enforcers known as "tax collectors" who work for a Los Angeles crime boss. Their operation is disrupted when one of them tries to shield his family from a former enemy. The Tax Collector premiered in the United States on August 7, 2020 through RLJE Films. Critics gave it negative reviews and it earned $1.3 million worldwide against a $4 million budget, failing commercially.
