A 2020 British independent screenlife supernatural horror film, Host was directed by Rob Savage and co-written by Gemma Hurley and Jed Shepherd. The movie occurs entirely through a Zoom video call and centers on a group of friends who accidentally bring a demon into their online séance.

The concept originated from a viral prank video created by Rob Savage, featuring several cast members, which he later expanded into a full-length film. Production took place over 12 weeks using only the Zoom platform during the COVID-19 pandemic. Each actor handled their own camera work, sound, makeup, lighting, and stunts, while Rob Savage directed remotely from his home.

Host premiered on Shudder on 30 July 2020, then became available in theaters and digital services through Vertigo Releasing on 4 December 2020. Critics responded favorably, noting the film’s exploration of social anxiety, effective jump scares, and strong ensemble chemistry.
