Boss Level 2020
Black comedyScience fiction action
Boss Level is a 2020 American science fiction action film that uses a time loop concept in its story. The movie was directed by Joe Carnahan and written by Carnahan, Chris Borey, and Eddie Borey, with the original story created by the Boreys. Frank Grillo plays a retired special forces soldier trapped in a never-ending cycle of death. Supporting actors include Mel Gibson, Annabelle Wallis, Naomi Watts, and Michelle Yeoh.
The project began in 2012 under the title Continue, developed at 20th Century Fox but later stalled in development. It was revived in November 2017 with Carnahan, Grillo, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, and Mark Vahradian serving as producers. Randall Emmett and George Furla were also involved in producing and financing the film. Principal photography occurred in Georgia from March through May 2018.
Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures acquired the film for theatrical release on August 16, 2018, though they later withdrew support. The film eventually reached U.S. audiences on March 5, 2021 through direct streaming on Hulu.
