Saloum is a 2021 crime horror-thriller film made in Senegal in 2003, directed by Congolese filmmaker Jean Luc Herbulot, written and produced by Herbulot and Pamela Diop. The movie uses a blend of French, Wolof, and sign language throughout its runtime. It tells the story of a group of three elite African mercenaries known as the "Hyenas of Bangui", who are traveling by plane from Bissau to Dakar when they attempt to avoid detection and gather supplies at a resort near the Saloum Delta in Senegal. They must stay hidden and fight for their lives.

The main characters are played by Yann Gael, Roger Sallah, and Mentor Ba as the Hyenas, with Evelyne Ily Juhen, Bruno Henry, and Marielle Salmier appearing in supporting roles; this was one of Ba's final film appearances before his death in August 2023. The narrative draws from African myths and real events. Christian Roche, Histoire de la Casamance : Conquête et résistance 1850-1920, 2000, p. 22.

Saloum premiered internationally at the Midnight Madness section of the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival on 30 September 2021. It received widespread critical praise and was shown around the globe. The film started streaming globally on Shudder in September 2022. Critics responded very positively, especially highlighting its distinct style, direction, and acting. Herbulot earned the Award for Best Director in the Next Wave section at Fantastic Fest, and the movie took the Audience Award for most popular film in the Altered States program at the 2021 Vancouver International Film Festival.
