Fantasy comedy

Freakier Friday represents a 2025 American fantasy comedy directed by Nisha Ganatra and penned by Jordan Weiss. The production was handled by Walt Disney Pictures, making it the follow-up to Freaky Friday (2003) and part of the fifth installment within the Freaky Friday series. Leading roles are played by Jamie Lee Curtis, Lindsay Lohan, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, and Mark Harmon. Within the storyline, Anna (Lohan) and Tess Coleman (Curtis) exchange bodies with Anna's daughter Harper (Butters) and stepdaughter Lily (Hammons).

Announcement occurred in 2023. Curtis and Lohan returned to their primary roles from the 2003 production and took significant part in the film's creation. Numerous allusions to the original movie and other films like Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) appear throughout. Principal photography happened in Los Angeles during summer 2024. Although Disney originally intended a streaming-only debut, the release was changed to theatrical due to requests from Curtis and Lohan.

The film opened at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles on July 22, 2025, followed by a theatrical launch from Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures on August 8. Critics responded favorably, and the movie earned $153 million compared to its $42–$45 million budget.
