Persona 3 Reload is a 2024 role-playing video game made by Atlus. It is a remake of Persona 3, which originally came out in 2006 and is the fourth main game in the Persona series. That series belongs to the larger Megami Tensei franchise. The story follows a high school student who returns to his hometown after his parents die in a car accident. A decade later, he gains the ability to summon a Persona—representing his inner spirit—and joins the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (S.E.E.S.). This group works together to fight Shadows and solve the mystery of the Dark Hour.
A remake of Persona 3 was frequently asked for by fans after the success of Persona 5 in 2016, which helped increase the series' global reach. Atlus officially recognized this demand. Development started in 2019 and the game was announced in June 2023. Reload retells the main story of Persona 3, with updated visuals and gameplay features that match later entries in the series. Shigenori Soejima led the new art direction, which was handled by Tomohiro Kumagai, and redesigned characters by Azusa Shimada. The soundtrack was mostly composed by Atsushi Kitajoh, with extra arrangements from original composer Shoji Meguro, and vocals performed by Azumi Takahashi and Lotus Juice.
Persona 3 Reload launched on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on February 2, 2024. A Nintendo Switch 2 version released on October 23, 2025. Critics gave the game mostly positive feedback, and it sold one million copies within its first week. This made it the fastest-selling title in the series to hit that milestone.
