Pacific Drive 2024
Pacific Drive is a survival video game released in 2024 by Ironwood Studios and published by Kepler Interactive. Set on a fictionalized Olympic Peninsula, the game follows players as they navigate through the landscape in a station wagon, attempting to escape the area. The game uses a first-person perspective, requiring players to avoid anomalies and obstacles along the way. Players can repair and customize their vehicle at a garage located within the game.
Development began in 2019 following Ironwood Studios' founding. Creative director Cassandra Dracott conceived the idea during a drive through the Olympic Peninsula. Though she considered developing it alone, she recognized the need for a team, which she started assembling during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project was publicly revealed in September 2022.
Pacific Drive launched for PlayStation 5 and Windows in February 2024, followed by an Xbox Series X/S release in October 2025. Critics responded positively to its atmosphere, characters, and vehicle design but noted repetitive and challenging gameplay. The game received multiple award nominations and surpassed one million sales by February 2025. A television adaptation was announced in 2024.
