Developed by Velan StudiosPublished by Nintendo

Star Fox (2026) is a 2026 rail shooter video game developed by Velan Studios and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch 2. This remake of Star Fox 64 (1997) retains the original level design, story, and gameplay while featuring a new artstyle and rebooting the series. Following reports and leaks after Fox McCloud appeared in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (2026), Star Fox was unveiled during a surprise Nintendo Direct on May 7, 2026. Reactions were divided due to its art style and choice to return to Star Fox 64 after Star Fox 64 3D (2011) and Star Fox Zero. The game released on June 25, 2026 and earned positive reviews for its gameplay, graphics, and loyalty to the original, though it faced criticism for lacking innovation or extra features.
