Returnal is a 2021 third-person shooter video game developed by Housemarque and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 5. A Windows port developed by Climax Studios was released on 15 February 2023. The game features Selene Vassos, an astronaut who arrives on the planet Atropos looking for a mysterious "White Shadow" signal and becomes trapped in a time loop. Gameplay merges bullet hell, third-person shooter and roguelike mechanics.

Critics responded positively to Returnal's visuals, combat, audio design and technical accomplishments, although its difficulty and roguelike structure received divided reactions. The game earned multiple year-end awards, including Best Game at the 18th British Academy Games Awards. By February 2022, 866,000 units had been sold, prior to its Windows release in February 2023. A spiritual sequel, Saros, emerged in 2026.
