Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker 2021
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is the fourth expansion pack for Final Fantasy XIV, an MMORPG made and published by Square Enix for macOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows, with later releases on Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2. It launched on December 7, 2021, more than two years after Shadowbringers, the prior expansion, due to delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Naoki Yoshida acted as director and producer while Masayoshi Soken created the musical score. The pack was offered as a separate purchase for existing players, though new players could get it through an updated "Complete Edition" that included all previous expansions up to Endwalker.
Endwalker concludes the Hydaelyn-Zodiark saga, which started with A Realm Reborn. Players journey across the world, space, and time to prevent Garlean crown prince Zenos and rogue Ascian Fandaniel from restarting the Final Days—an event that endangers all of existence. The expansion introduces new regions, raises the level cap to 90, and adds the Sage and Reaper jobs.
Like Shadowbringers before it, Endwalker earned praise, especially for wrapping up the story that began in A Realm Reborn.
