Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) expansion pack scheduled for release on February 23, 2027. It represents the sixth update to Final Fantasy XIV and will be available for Windows, macOS, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Developed and published by Square Enix, this expansion follows Dawntrail, which released two years prior. Naoki Yoshida directed and produced the game, while Masayoshi Soken composed its soundtrack. The expansion will be sold as a standalone product for existing players; new players can access it through the updated "Complete Edition" that includes all previous expansions up to Evercold.

In the storyline, players journey to the Fourth, a parallel world suffering under an apocalyptic ice age. Due to uninhabitable surface conditions, inhabitants have moved to massive airships. The main objective involves preventing the Solstice, where multiple worlds are set to collide catastrophically. The expansion introduces new regions, raises the level cap, adds two new character classes, and implements an "Evolved" combat system. PlayStation 4 support, which began in 2014, is expected to end during the middle of the expansion's patch cycle. Multiplayer modes remain a core component of this release. 2, 4, 5, and 4 correspond to specific platform versions. The expansion is set for a two-year gap since the last update, with the release date firmly placed in early 2027. Square Enix Creative Studio 3 developed the content. Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold will feature enhanced gameplay mechanics and world-building elements that extend beyond the standard progression of earlier updates.
