F1 22 2022
F1 22 is a racing video game released on 1 July by EA Sports and developed by Codemasters. It marks the fifteenth installment in the F1 series created by Codemasters, featuring official licensing for both the 2022 Formula One and Formula 2 seasons. The title became available across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Additionally, it launched on EA's Origin platform, accessible through the EA Desktop app, and also on the Epic Games Store. Unlike earlier versions where Steam was the only PC option, this release expanded to multiple digital storefronts. The game was removed from March 2024 in light of the upcoming F1 24 title announcement.
Critics generally responded favorably to the game, though users expressed concerns over its lack of innovation compared to prior entries and the introduction of the "F1 Life" mode. Another point of contention involved the updated vehicle handling model, especially the new traction system that mirrored real-world Formula 1 regulations introduced during the 2022 season.
In terms of roster accuracy, Nyck de Vries does not appear in the Williams team, as he had temporarily replaced Alex Albon at the Italian Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Nico Hülkenberg is included in the game but does not drive for Aston Martin after stepping in for Sebastian Vettel, who was affected by a COVID outbreak during the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix.
