Chained Echoes 2022
Chained Echoes is a 2022 role-playing video game developed by Matthias Linda and released by Deck13 Spotlight on Linux, macOS, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Set in a world inspired by Japanese RPGs from the 1990s, it uses turn-based battles, 16-bit-style graphics, and a story told through multiple characters. Players control heroes attempting to prevent conflict among three kingdoms. Designer Linda drew influence from titles including Xenogears, Terranigma, Secret of Mana, Suikoden 2, Breath of Fire, The Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI. Critics have commended the game for matching its inspirations' standards while integrating contemporary improvements.
