The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 2023
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a 2023 asymmetrical survival horror video game originally developed by Sumo Nottingham and published by Gun Interactive. It is based on the 1974 film of the same name.
Four players take on the roles of victims trying to escape a family of cannibals, while one player controls Leatherface. Kane Hodder reprises his role as Leatherface, having also served as a stunt double in 1990's Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III. Edwin Neal provides the voice for the Hitchhiker, reprising this role from the original film.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre released on August 18, 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. It also launched on Xbox Game Pass on the same day. Reviews were generally favorable, praising its adherence to the source material and innovative four versus three gameplay format. Some criticism focused on matchmaking and technical difficulties, along with controversy over the pricing of downloadable content. In 2025, it was announced that no further updates or support would be provided for the game.
