City-building

Developed by Free LivesPublished by Devolver Digital

Terra Nil is a 2023 strategy video game developed by Free Lives and published by Devolver Digital. The game launched on March 28, 2023 for Android, iOS, and Windows, with mobile versions distributed via Netflix Games. Additional ports followed in 2023 for macOS, Linux, and the Nintendo Switch.

Though typical city-building games emphasize resource consumption and expansion, Terra Nil reverses this approach. Instead of building structures to grow a civilization, the game centers on ecosystem restoration. Inspired by rewilding efforts and climate change concerns, it challenges players to rebuild natural environments rather than exploit them.
