A Pocketful of Python 1999
A Pocketful of Python is a collection of five books created by the Monty Python group. Each volume features contributions from the surviving members who pick their preferred content from the team’s television shows, movies, recordings, and publications. Terry Jones and John Cleese authored the first two books in 1999 to mark the group’s 30th year milestone. The next pair of volumes came out in 2000, with Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin responsible for them. Eric Idle wrote the last book, which appeared in 2002. Every individual volume contains a foreword composed by another member of Monty Python. In 2006, all five books were compiled into one paperback titled The Very Best of Monty Python. The idea of selecting favorite material was later reused for the television program Monty Python's Personal Best.
