README.txt 2022
README.txt: A Memoir is a 2022 memoir written by Chelsea Manning. The book describes her childhood, her time serving in the U.S. Army, and her life following her conviction after leaking documents to WikiLeaks.
In the memoir, she recounts that in late 2009, her supervisor suggested a State Department Net-Centric Diplomacy portal containing "a trove of diplomatic cables" that could be "useful to us in our analytical work." She states she read every cable concerning Iraq and then explored other parts of the database. On February 21, 2010, she released what became known as the 'Collateral Murder' video, showing blurry aerial footage from July 2007 of an Apache helicopter attack that turned terribly wrong.
