The Bear 2022
A 2022 American comedy-drama series, The Bear follows Carmy Berzatto, played by Jeremy Allen White, who returns to Chicago after his brother's death to take control of his brother’s failing Italian beef sandwich restaurant. Created by Christopher Storer for FX on Hulu, the show features a regular cast including Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliott, Matty Matheson, and Edwin Lee Gibson.
The first season debuted entirely on June 23, 2022 in FX on Hulu. Subsequent seasons released on June 2023, June 2024, and June 2025 for the second, third, and fourth seasons respectively. A special episode starring Moss-Bachrach and Jon Bernthal was issued on May 5, 2026, focusing exclusively on their characters. The fifth and final season premiered on June 25, 2026.
Critics praised the series for acting, writing, direction, visual presentation, music, and overall production quality. However, from season three onward, it faced criticism for tonal changes, unusual celebrity appearances, and narrative slowdowns. Many professional chefs appreciated how the show realistically portrays restaurant work's physical and emotional pressures. The Bear earned 22 Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series, along with five Golden Globe Awards, such as Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
