Star Wars Tales is a 2026 American animated anthology television series produced by Lucasfilm Animation. The series was created by Dave Filoni and made available on the streaming platform Disney+. Each episode consists of six shorts that delve into characters from the Star Wars universe. Supervising director Filoni oversees production.
Filoni started developing Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi while working on the live-action Star Wars show The Mandalorian, which aired from 2019 to 2023. He unveiled initial information in May 2022. The project focuses on Jedi from the prequel trilogy era and splits into two storylines. One follows Ahsoka Tano (voiced by Ashley Eckstein), while the other centers on Count Dooku (voiced by Corey Burton). Tales of the Jedi premiered on Disney+ in October 26, 2022, earning praise for its animation, writing, and musical score.
A second season was announced in April 2023 and later revealed to be titled Star Wars: Tales of the Empire. This installment explores figures connected to the Galactic Empire and again divides into two story arcs. One storyline features Morgan Elsbeth (voiced by Diana Lee Inosanto), while the other follows former Jedi Barriss Offee (voiced by Meredith Salenger). Tales of the Empire was made available on May 4, 2024.
Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, which highlights bounty hunters in the criminal underworld, was announced in April 2025. It continues the format of earlier seasons with two storylines. One follows Asajj Ventress (voiced by Nika Futterman), and the other features Cad Bane (voiced by Corey Burton). Tales of the Underworld was released on May 4, 2025.
