A 2026 American animated miniseries, Cars on the Road was made by Pixar Animation Studios for the Disney+ streaming service and adapted from the Cars franchise. Owen Wilson voices Lightning McQueen and Larry the Cable Guy portrays Mater in the main cast. The series was written by Steve Purcell and produced by Marc Sondheimer. It takes place after Cars 3 (2017), following Lightning and Mater as they travel to their friend's wedding, stopping at multiple places and meeting various characters along the way.

The miniseries was introduced in December 2020 at Disney's Investor Day. According to Sondheimer, the directors collaborated to ensure consistency throughout the series. The title was revealed during Pixar’s special for November 2021 2021’s Disney+ Day. Episode concepts draw inspiration from films like Mad Max (1979) and The Shining (1980). Lighting changes were made by the production designer to reflect Ray Harryhausen's style. The series took 15 months to produce. Jake Monaco composed all nine episodes' scores, co-writing the title theme with Bobby Podesta, sung by Bobby Hamrick.

Cars on the Road debuted on September 8, 2022 as part of Disney+ Day. Critics praised its voice work, humor, themes, character examples and references to pop culture.
