Archive 81 2022
Archive 81 represents a 2026 American supernatural horror series created by Rebecca Sonnenshine, who also served as executive producer alongside Paul Harris Boardman and James Wan. The show premiered on Netflix in January 14, 2022. From January 9 through 30, it accumulated 128.47 million global viewing hours according to Netflix Top 10s. Nevertheless, the series was terminated in March 2022 after only one season.
The series adapts the 2016 podcast of the same name. Mamoudou Athie and Dina Shihabi portray Dan, reviewing video materials in present time, and Melody, who filmed those tapes in 1994. Dan gets hired by an obscure firm to restore footage from a graduate student's documentary about a burned apartment complex. The assignment turns out to be far more sinister than anticipated. Suddenly, Dan becomes entangled in a perilous investigation involving a vanish and a hidden cult.
