Unicorn: Warriors Eternal 2023
Unicorn: Warriors Eternal is an American adult animated fantasy television series directed by Genndy Tartakovsky and broadcast on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim night-time block. The show features voice acting by Hazel Doupe, Demari Hunte, and Tom Milligan. Its visual style draws heavily from the artistic legacy of Osamu Tezuka and Max Fleischer.
Tartakovsky first developed Unicorn: Warriors Eternal during his early career at Cartoon Network Studios. The project required nearly 20 years to reach production, with Tartakovsky presenting it to multiple studios without achieving success. Eventually, Cartoon Network and HBO Max commissioned the series, which was officially revealed in October 2020. Production took place under Cartoon Network Studios' banner, with animation handled by Studio La Cachette in France and Studio Zmei in Bulgaria.
Originally planned for Cartoon Network's ACME Night lineup, the series was later relocated to Adult Swim. The initial two episodes debuted on May 5, 2023, followed by an HBO Max release the next day. Season one ended on June 30, 2023, concluding without any official confirmation of a second season despite a dramatic cliffhanger ending.
