Twisted Metal 2023
Twisted Metal is an American post-apocalyptic action comedy series created by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Michael Jonathan Smith. Set in a devastated United States, the show follows John Doe, played by Mackie, a chatty delivery driver suffering from amnesia who receives instructions to deliver a secretive package across the wasteland. Along the way, he encounters violent raiders and engages in high-speed combat using dangerous machines.
The series originates from the vehicular combat video game owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Principal actors include Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa, Will Arnett, Thomas Haden Church, and Anthony Carrigan. Development started under Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions in May 2019, with a complete season confirmed by Peacock in February 2022. Season one consisted of ten episodes and launched on Peacock in July 2023. The second season aired in July 2025, followed by renewal for a third season in November 2025.
