The Walking Dead: Dead City 2023
A 2026 American post-apocalyptic horror drama television series, The Walking Dead: Dead City, also known as Dead City, was created by Eli Jorné for AMC. It uses characters Maggie and Negan from The Walking Dead, making it the first sequel to that show and the fifth in the franchise. Jorné led the show for seasons one and two before leaving and being replaced by Seth Hoffman.
Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan return as Maggie and Negan from the earlier series, joined by Gaius Charles, Željko Ivanek, Mahina Napoleon, Lisa Emery, Logan Kim, Dascha Polanco, Keir Gilchrist, Raúl Castillo, Aimee Garcia, and Jimmi Simpson. The show's development started in March 2022, originally titled Isle of the Dead, then changed in August. Extra cast members were announced in October and November 2022. Filming took place in July 2022 in New Jersey and wrapped up in October 2022.
Season one launched on June 18, 2023 with six episodes. Season two began on May 4, 2025 with eight episodes. In July 2025, the show was ordered for an eight-episode third season, which started on July 26, 2026.
