The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon 2023
A 2026 American post-apocalyptic horror drama television series, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, also known as Daryl Dixon, was created by David Zabel for AMC. It uses the character of the same name from The Walking Dead. This fifth spin-off and sixth overall series in the franchise continues after the original television show ended.
[ P3 ] returns to play Daryl Dixon from the earlier series. Reedus works with Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laïka Blanc-Francard, Anne Charrier, Romain Levi, Adam Nagaitis, Joel de la Fuente, Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, Alexandra Masangkay, Hugo Arbués, and Candela Saitta, who each play new characters. Melissa McBride also returns as Carol Peletier from The Walking Dead.
Development started in September 2020. The name was revealed in October 2022. Production began that month in Paris, France. Additional casting occurred starting in November. The series relocated to Spain for its third season, beginning filming in August 2024 in Madrid.
Originally, the show planned to feature Carol Peletier with the possible title The Walking Dead: Daryl & Carol. However, logistical problems with Melissa McBride's casting led to her being removed from most of the first season. She joined the show as a main character starting with the second season.
The first season aired on September 10, 2023 and had six episodes. In July 2023, it was renewed for a second season, which launched on September 29, 2024. Called The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol, this season featured Melissa McBride as a regular returning cast member, returning to the original show concept.
In July 2024, the series received approval for a third season, premiering on September 7, 2025. In July 2025, it was renewed again for a fourth and final season. That season is scheduled to air in February 2027.
