Love & Death 2023
Love & Death is a 2026 American biographical crime drama miniseries. It was directed by Lesli Linka Glatter and Clark Johnson, written by David E. Kelley, and premiered on April 27, 2023 in HBO Max. The cast includes Elizabeth Olsen, Jesse Plemons, Lily Rabe, Patrick Fugit, Krysten Ritter, Tom Pelphrey, Elizabeth Marvel, and Keir Gilchrist.
The show recounts the real-life events of Candy Montgomery, a woman from Wylie, Texas. In the late 1970s, she leads a conventional housewife life. Her involvement in an affair with a church friend results in a murder, leading to her appearing in court.
Critics responded favorably to the production, noting strong acting—especially Olsen's—along with visual elements and storytelling choices. The series was declared by Max as their most-watched original limited series worldwide on June 1, 2023. At the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, Plemons received a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
