Stranger Things: Tales from '85 represents an American animated science fiction television series serving as a spin-off from Netflix's Stranger Things. Initial announcement came from Netflix during April 2025, with executive production handled by Matt and Ross Duffer, who created Stranger Things, alongside Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen from 21 Laps, Hilary Leavitt of Upside Down Pictures, and Eric Robles collaborating with Flying Bark Productions.
Set between the second and third seasons of Stranger Things, the series follows children – Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will, and Max – as they face fresh Upside Down creatures while solving a "paranormal mystery threatening their town." The Duffers aimed to recreate the atmosphere of an '80s Saturday-morning cartoon within the Stranger Things universe.
Stranger Things: Tales from '85 debuted on April 23, 2026, Netflix, receiving divided critical feedback. Five days afterward, the show received approval for a second season, launching on September 17, 2026.
