Clean Sweep 2023
Clean Sweep is a six-part Irish crime thriller series produced by Gary Tieche. The show was distributed by ZDF Studios and first aired in Ireland on 14 May 2023 and in the United States on 22 June 2023. The pilot script was written by Tieche, who also worked with Fran Harris to develop the series. Direction was handled by Ronan Burke and Yves Christian Fournier. Primary filming took place in Wicklow, including locations in the Wicklow Mountains and Dargle River, with production beginning in 2021 and continuing into mid-2022. The story centers on Shelly (Charlene McKenna) and Jason (Barry Ward), a married couple. Shelly, a stay-at-home mother raising children, is reunited with Charlie (Adam Fergus), a former boyfriend from 20 years prior. Jason, a police detective, is investigating a murder case that could boost his career. He works alongside Fiona (Jeanne Nicole Ní Áinle), with whom he shares a secret relationship. The series unfolds largely in Wicklow, though some scenes are set in London or Northumbria.
