Spider-Noir is an American superhero show created by Oren Uziel for MGM+ and Prime Video. Adapted from Marvel Comics with the character Spider-Man Noir, the series centers on an aging private investigator and superhero operating in 1930s New York City while confronting his history. Uziel and Steve Lightfoot are credited as showrunners. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios and exists within the Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU) alternate timeline.
Nicolas Cage portrays Ben Reilly / The Spider in his initial television lead role, joined by Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson in starring roles. Development details and Uziel’s participation were disclosed in February 2023; Lightfoot was hired that December. Cage's casting was confirmed in May 2024, at which point the show was ordered and initially named Noir before being retitled Spider-Noir in July. Principal photography occurred in Los Angeles between August 2024 and March 2025.
Spider-Noir premiered entirely on May 25, 2026, released in the United States on MGM+ in color, comprising eight episodes. It was subsequently made available worldwide on Prime Video on May 27, offered in two formats labeled Authentic Black and White and True-Hue Full Color. Critics responded favorably, especially praising Cage’s acting. The series earned 11 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, securing five wins. In September 2026, the show was discontinued after a single season.
