Beef is an American comedy drama anthology television series crafted by Lee Sung Jin for Netflix. The ten-episode first season debuted on Netflix in April 6, 2023, featuring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong as Danny Cho and Amy Lau, two individuals whose road rage encounter spirals into a drawn-out conflict. Supporting actors include Joseph Lee, Young Mazino, David Choe, and Patti Yasutake. Season 2 introduces Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan as Joshua Martín and Lindsay Crane-Martín, alongside Cailee Spaeny and Charles Melton portraying Ashley and Austin. After the latter pair blackmails the former with compromising video of an argument that could damage their public image, another extended feud develops.
The initial season received widespread critical praise for Yeun’s and Wong’s portrayals as well as the writing and direction. At the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, it captured eight honors, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and acting wins for Yeun and Wong. The 81st Golden Globe Awards saw it take home all three of its nominated categories, such as Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television.
Season two launched on April 16, 2026. It garnered favorable reviews and 16 nods at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and acting nominations for Isaac, Mulligan, Melton, and Youn Yuh-jung.
