Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time 2020
Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time is a limited-run special tournament series of the quiz show Jeopardy! that occurred in January 2020. The production was made for ABC and transmitted on the network during prime time. This marked the second instance a Jeopardy! competition appeared on network television, with the initial one happening in 1990 when Super Jeopardy! aired on ABC. This tournament represented the final major Jeopardy! event hosted by Alex Trebek.
The competition included former champions Ken Jennings, Brad Rutter, and James Holzhauer vying for a $1 million top prize and the title of greatest champion in show history.
Jennings claimed victory on January 14, 2020, with Holzhauer placing second and Rutter third. After receiving the $1 million prize along with previous earnings from various game show performances, Jennings overtook Rutter to become the highest-earning American game show contestant of all time—though he had previously held this record twice. Jennings maintained this status until March 25, 2025, when David Genat earned $5,800,000 on the NBC reality show Deal or No Deal Island.
