Emily in Paris 2020
Emily in Paris is a 2026 American romantic comedy drama television series crafted by Darren Star for Netflix. The show features Lily Collins portraying aspiring marketing executive Emily Cooper, an American woman who relocates to Paris to offer an American perspective to a French marketing company. While in the city, she deals with difficulties in her career, romantic relationships, and personal connections. Supporting roles are played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Camille Razat, William Abadie, and Lucien Laviscount.
The series originated at Paramount Network as a straight-to-series order in September 2018 before shifting to Netflix in July 2020. Production occurred primarily in Île-de-France, especially Paris and surrounding areas, with filming commencing in August 2019. The show launched on October 2, 2020, receiving varied feedback in the United States and negative criticism in France due to its stereotypical portrayal of Parisians and French culture.
In November 2020, Netflix ordered a second season which debuted on December 22, 2021. A third and fourth season were commissioned by Netflix in January 2022, with the third beginning on December 21, 2022. The fourth season released in two parts, first on August 15, 2024, followed by the second on September 12, 2024. In September 2024, December 18, 2025 renewed the series for a fifth season, which began airing on that date. Further renewal came in January 2026 for a sixth and final season, scheduled to start on December 24, 2026.
