Diary of a Future President 2020
Diary of a Future President is an American comedy-drama television series crafted by Ilana Peña for Disney+. Gina Rodriguez acts as executive producer via her firm I Can & I Will Productions, which partners with CBS Studios to produce the show.
The narrative unfolds through diary entries read aloud by Elena, the main character, a 13-year-old Cuban American student attending middle school while dreaming of becoming president. The cast includes Tess Romero, Charlie Bushnell, Selenis Leyva, and Michael Weaver. Rodriguez also appears in flashforwards as the adult Elena, who becomes President of the United States.
Season one debuted on January 17, 2020. The show received a second season renewal in May 2020, launching on August 18, 2021 with ten episodes total. After two seasons, the series concluded in December 2021.
The program was taken down from Disney+ on May 26, 2023 during a Disney content removal effort tied to a Disney+ and Hulu cleanup as part of cost reduction measures led by CEO Bob Iger.
